Simply Macros

What does MACRO stand for? It is Messy And Confusing Repeated Operation. Last lesson inMicrosoft Excel. HAHA. Sir, may alam din ako sa cameras! :P . In the world of computers, it is a computer instruction that initiates a series of additional instructions. Okay. Medyo isa rin ito sa mga madadaling lesson sa Microsoft Excel but a little tricky because once you record a macro wrong, all your instructions will be affected. Kaya bawal dito ang mga "Careless People". Joke! XD

Practice your Creativity in Microsoft Excel

Ever heard of drawing cartoons or animations in Microsoft Excel? Well, you gotta try it! Try it yourself! Its amazing. If your getting bored in scrolling up and down in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Ask.fm or other social networking sites, why not try opening your Microsoft Excel and fill the cells with colors and form a character in it. But if your getting bored in practicing your creativity in Microsoft Excel, then go back scrolling up and down in the social networking site you wanna use! HAHA! XD

Charts and Graphs

HEAVEN. This is the easiest among all lessons we learned in Microsoft Excel in Computer Science I. Easy as ABC, easy as 123 or simple as DO RE MI, ABC, 123 baby you and me girl! HAHA! Just Kidding! Its just like this, you start by entering the numeric data for the chart on a worksheet. Then you can plot that data into a chart by selecting the chart type that you want to use on the Office Fluent Ribbon (Insert tab,Charts group).

Joke, Jogoo , Joke Lang

Gusto mo ng jokes? Pass the Entrance examination in Philippine Science High School-Bicol Region Campus and enroll now. As long as si Sir Tom pa rin ang maghahandle ng Computer Science I next year and for the incoming years. And after 10 minutes, nakuha ko, yun pala "Karen Sy".

First Long Test on Third Quarter

Long Test. Ano ba 'to? Will I get a low score?

Excelling in Excel

So many days passed means many days passed that our lesson in Computer Science is all about Microsoft Excel. And I really miss our old friends, who are Microsoft Word and Microsoft Powerpoint presentation. For all the family of Microsoft, Microsoft Excel is my enemy. Microsft Excel is my bestfriend, rather. Excel makes me dizzy. Because of its tens, hundreds, thousands, millions, billions. but of its infinite boxes that covers my monitor. Not only those boxes, but also its very long functions and formulas we type in one cell. Although I don't have a backgrround experience in Microsoft Excel, I can understand the functions and formulas! :P ! HAHA!

The Spreadsheet Poem

=((A1+B1+C1+(A2*SQRT(B2)))/C2)+(A3*B3)=(C3^A4)+B4
A dozen, a gross and a score
Plus three times the square root of four, Divided by seven,
Plus five times eleven,
Equals nine squared and not a bit more.

Let's Get Out of the BOX for the Meantime.

Forget Computer Science for the meantime, Let's talk about entertainment and enjoyment. YEAH! Catching Fire na! November 22. We planned to watch it at SM City Naga. :P . Kahit 2 hours ang byahe from Camarines Norte to Naga, sisikapin namin. Ganyan kami kasipag magbyahe. Sisikapin namin kasi Ctaching Fire yan ehh. Yung First Installment ng Hunger Games ay enjoy, lalo na ngayong Second Installment na kung saan lahat ng victors of the past games from every district ay maglalaban-laban.

One Week Vacation

NO. Akala namin walang Computer Science so "Party-Party".

The Different Perspectives of "IF" Questions

The World of English:
If you had only 24 hours to live, what would you do?
If a classmate asked you for the answer to a question during an exam while the teacher was not looking, what would you do?
If someone's underwear was showing, would you tell them?
If the whole world were listening, what would you say?
If one song were to describe your life, what song would it be?

Joke:
Alam niyo yung "if"?

Computer Science:
=IF(A1>10, "Larger", "Smaller")
=IF(A1>10,"Over 10","10 or less")
=IF(A2="Tech on the Net", 12, 0)
=IF(A2<=100,"Within budget","Over budget")
=IF(A1=20, "Equal", "Not Equal")
=IF(A4>89,"A",IF(A4>79,"B", ))

=IF(A4>69,"C",IF(A4>59,"D","F"))

Different Quarter, Different Language

Okay, so this is how I will start. If my First Quarter and Second Quarter is written or published in English lanquage, what if I change it to Filipino this Third Quarter? But I'll try publishing posts in English so Foreign Persons who will visit my page can understand it (para namang may bibisita sa blog ko na ibang lahi, XD) and I might die if I dont speak in English (wehh). Itlog ba? HAHA.

Simplicity is Truly a Beauty

The more multifarious, the more animation, the more colorful, the superior. Are you sure? Really? I thought, it was true but I just realize that I was wrong. Sir Tom said that if your presentation is simple, it is better. Computer Science is not only for making powerpoint presentations but also for making better powerpoint presenters. Like Steve Jobs, founder of Apple, he always presents simple presentations but are loved by many because they can fathom it easily.

HTML Quizzes and Activities

HTML maybe a little difficult for beginners like me. As day passes, activities and quizzes gets harder. But if you study harder, you may get it. Memorizing HTML Tags (Text Formatting, Fonts and Colors) might be a little difficult if you don't study. Images are defined with the <img> tag. Tables are defined with the <table> tag. A table is divided into rows (with the <tr> tag). Each row is divided into data cells (with the <td> tag). <td> tag can contain text, links, images, lists, forms, other tables, etc. Header information in a table are defined with the <th> tag. Exercises are also good to us. No matter how hard or easy it is, it is important. It trains us to be good and better.

EytchTeeEmmEll

Don't understand the title? That's how I can express what I learned on our fourth lesson (HTML). HTML documents are also called "Web Pages". Memorizing the tags maybe a little difficult for me, specially memorizing the codes the colors. "HTML tags" and "HTML elements" are often used to describe the same thing.

Second Quiz, Second Quarter

Arghhh! I don't wanna remember these quiz again. But since our project is about our experiences inside the Comlab, I will share it to you. Ohh, this day, another day for quiz. I thought it would be easy compared to the first quiz about Protocols and DNS, but I was wrong. My score was worse compared to the first quiz. I attempted twice the number of mistakes of the mistakes I made on the first quiz. I was expecting to be a perfect score. Then I remembered, "Don't expect too much if you didn't study well and not prepared to take the quiz". Study, study and study!

Do's and Don'ts of Online Communication

Read the title again. I bet you know what topic we discussed on this day. Yeah right, its Netiquette! Netiquette is also a set of rules. Just like the Protocol. The difference of the two is that Netiquette is a set of rules for behaving properly online. Netiquette (Internet + Etiquette). My most favorite line in this lesson is "Behave online as you do in real life". Some Privacy and Security Threats are Malware/Virus, Hacking, Cyber Bullying, Spamming, Flooding/Mail Bomb, DoS, Forgery/Identity Theft. These are only a flashback of our lesson. Wanna know more? Click "here".

Web Searching Tips and Tricks

www.cci-lefkas.gr
In this topic, I really learned a lot. Because this topic consists of many, many, many lessons. I just realize that not only searching and surfing on sites but I can use Google as a calculator, measurement conversions, get the time from different places, get currency conversions, check the weather and get definitions. Wanna know more about Web Searching Tips and Tricks? Visit these sites: http://www.google.com/insidesearch/tipstricks/all.html and http://www.bris.ac.uk/library/support/findinginfo/evaluation/.

First Quiz, Second Quarter

First Quiz? I don't really know if this is still a high grade or not. I made 2 mistakes which is "FTP is a standard network protocol used to transfer files from one host to another host over a UDP-based network, such as the Internet". I answered True which is False. And, "DHCP stands for" Domain Hierarchical Configuration Protocol" which is Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. I don't know why I answered this weird 4-letter phrase. Maybe because of my nervousness struck me because this is our fist quiz on Second Quarter.

Warm Welcome of Second Quarter

First day. Not really my first day of my life nor first day of my school but my first day in second quarter. The quarter after the first quarter. Ohh, Protocols and DNS welcomed me in my Second Quarter. Let me discuss to you a short description what a Protocol is to refresh your mind. Based on our lessons, a protocol is a set of rules that governs the communications between computer on a network. I can say that this lesson is fun.

Blog Making

When I heard Sir Tom saying "Gagawa kayo ng sarili niyong blog as a project niyo sa First Quarter sakin sa Computer Science", I was like "OMG! Gagawa na rin ako ng sariling blog ko sa wakas!". The problem is, I dont know how to make a blog. HAHA! I spend 3 hours watching video tutorials on YouTube and still I dont get it. I spend another 1 hour searching and searching for How to Make a Blog and finally I went up to a video that helped me a lot. I thought it was easy for me to make a blog after watching the video but when I tried to create a blog, I was wrong. I ended up 11 hours making my blog. I'm really tired after making my blog that I felt I slept through the school year. But when I woke up on the morning, I feel very happy because I finally finished my project and it is fun learning how to make my own blog!

A Day Without Sir Tom

The Grade VII-Diamond class now went to the Computer Science Laboratory but Sir Tom wasn't there. While waiting for Sir Tom, we decided to have a choral singing outside the laboratory. We had lots of fun singing but on the other hand we are also sad that Sir Tom is not there to teach us this time. But after that day, the subject is doubled with fun because of the fun hands-on activities, new lessons and Sir Tom's jokes.

Excitement and Disappointment at Computer Science Laboratory

I feel excited when its time for our Computer Science ce subject. Before going to the Laboratory, my classmate Eisha says "Guys, Com Sci na po, punta na po sa lab!" that is one of our unforgettable moments in the classroom. When I enter the Computer Science laboratory, I feel excited and ready for the coming hands-on activities and the cool air that refreshes me during hot days. But before the classes ends, I always end up in disappointment because of unfinished work. This is because of the slow internet connection and the PC unit I am using always hang. Good thing that our teacher allows us to finish it the day after.

Cramming on the First Quarter

Five projects to be passed next week? How will I do it? Its okay if the projects are very easy that I can do it for 2 days. But no! Its like you fell from a 50 feet hole and there's no one around who can help you. Luckily that our fist long weekend saved the day. Feels like a ladder fell from heaven where you can climbed up to pass the challenge.

Bad Brownouts

Brownout yesterday. brownout today, brownout tomorrow, brownout everyday. Why brownout during Computer Science? I just like "argghh" during brownouts in Computer Science class. No fun hands-on activities, no knowledge, no Havey and Waley joke from Sir Tom and of course, what me, Inna and Rina are waiting for, the Air-conditioned room during hot days. My classmates always say "Grabe ang init!". I reply "Sorry ha, hot talaga ako!". But some of my classmates like brownouts because they can go to the canteen early. And I reply "Grabe, kakakain niyo pa lang ng tanghalian, gutom agad?".

Using Command Prompt

One week before we discussed this topic, our Computer Science teacher once said "Imagine computers without mouse". In my mind, I said "Wow, ang hirap naman nun! Masakit yun sa ulo!". When we arrived in the topic, I found that I was wrong. Command Prompt is there. The problem why I don't believe the task is because I am not familiar with this Command Prompt. At the first trial, it was hard for me to complete the task. But when I tried for many times, it seems very easy for me now.

Introduction to Microsoft Word

After so many weeks, we finally reached activities using Microsoft Word. Microsoft Word? I know how to use it since my Elementary years! I use this in making projects, assignments and group works. I thought using Microsoft Word is easy. But when we reached some hands-on activities like the Math Equations. This proves that we must give importance to some parts of Microsoft Word.

Applying Values Education in Computer Science

Computer Science isn't only about the computers, but also learning virtues. Thank you Sir Tom for showing us the good characters inside the Computer Science Laboratory. Even if your subject is not Values Education, you showed us the right characters, especially the gift of sharing. We learned to share our Computer to the one who doesn't have Computer units. Virtues are learned not because it was taught by our teachers, family and friends but because of your experiences inside and outside the class.

To the Coolest Computer Science Teacher

Two months with Sir Tom? Why is it so fast? This is one of my most favorite subject in Pisay. I love and enjoy every topic and hands-on topic given by Sir Tom. Thank you for the knowledge, the skills and the Havey and Waley jokes you've shared to us. You're a part of our success as we, the Batch 2019 go through an adventurous journey in Philippine Science High School. To the coolest teacher in Computer Science, we LABUSER.

First Day of Classes

Philippine Science High School- Bicol Region Campus
It's school time again and I'm in High School now! My emotions are like a roller-coaster ride. I feel a little bit nervous and little bit scared on the first day because of all the new things: new teachers, new friends and a new school. A little bit sad that my new school is far from our house, really far from our house. Luckily, these "new" worries only stick around for a little while. And also, I'm very happy to meet my new classmates and friends where I can share my happy and sad experiences for 6 years in my stay in Philippine Science High School. To my friends Rina, Inna, Ralvina, Maricon Paula, Maan and Nadine, I want to thank you for accepting me for who I am, for sharing me your trusts and for sharing your joys with me. I hope our friendship becomes stronger and happier!
